This December, the University of Nebraska-Lincoln's Ad Club will mark a milestone in its history, celebrating 100 years of fostering creativity, innovation and career-building connections for students interested in advertising and marketing.

To commemorate the occasion, Ad Club is hosting a Black & White Party that features a panel of distinguished industry professionals and Ad Club alumni on Wednesday, Dec. 4, at 5:30 p.m. The event will take place in the Agency, located on the third floor of the Lincoln Children's Museum.

The following advertising experts will discuss their past experiences and the future of the industry as part of the panel:

  • Rich Bailey, co-founder of Bailey Lauerman, will share insights from his experience leading one of Nebraska's most respected agencies.
  • Kelli Britten, senior marketing manager at Arbor Day Foundation and CoJMC adjunct professor, will provide a unique viewpoint on non-profit branding and how mission-driven marketing creates meaningful change.
  • Adam Kroft, founder, partner and CEO of redthread and current professional in residence at Jacht Agency, will dive into the intricacies of digital and integrated marketing.
  • Brent Schott, president and CEO of Swanson Russell, will focus on how big data and marketing technology have expanded our focus on the entire customer experience.
  • Christine Weeks, founder, CEO and managing director of Eleanor Creative, will bring her expertise on creative entrepreneurship and the growth of a successful agency that values collaboration and female leadership.
  • Lyn Wineman, founder, president and chief strategist of KidGlov, will discuss her work in purpose-driven branding and building campaigns that promote positive social impact.
  • Sarah Wischhof, vice president of marketing at Union Bank & Trust, will offer perspectives from the client side, detailing the importance of financial marketing and how her team crafts messages that build trust and credibility.

Brian Hubbard, assistant professor of practice and current Ad Club faculty advisor, looks forward to the centennial celebration and for current Ad Club members to have an opportunity to network and participate in engaging discussions with the panelists.

"Reaching 100 years is an incredible achievement, and this event is as much about looking back on our shared history as it is about inspiring the next generation of industry leaders," Hubbard said. "This evening is a testament to the amazing community of students, alumni and professionals who have contributed to our legacy."

All CoJMC alumni, current students, and advertising professionals in the Nebraska community are invited to reconnect, commemorate and celebrate 100 years of Ad Club at the Black & White Party.
