Two senior students earn their spot on Homecoming royalty

Friday, November 20, 2020 - 8:30pm

Jared Long, a journalism and political science double major, and Mitch Fisher, an advertising and public relations major were named 2020 Homecoming candidates. Both seniors encompass CoJMC's "do from day one" mentality that has helped them stand out since their journey first began at Andersen Hall.

Jared Long

Long coincidentally has a long list of accomplishments he achieved during his time at UNL — accomplishments that certainly come in handy because he’s currently applying for law school.

Long was the Internal Vice President for the Association of Students of the University of Nebraska (ASUN), a member of the Innocents Society, a new student enrollment orientation leader and communications coordinator and honors campus host, to name a few. He also helped start UNL projects like Converge Nebraska and The Bandana Project.

Mitch Fisher

Fisher has worked at Hudl as a support intern and currently he’s a content creator at Class Intercom. He’s president of his fraternity Phi Kappa Theta where he’s spent a majority of his time at UNL.

Over his four years he created his own brand called “Fog Squad.” His mission was to help young adults stay focused, original and goal-oriented. He started his own business and a few years ago won the #Digital4Good Award and was invited to Twitter HQ in San Francisco to present his brand.

Congratulations to these senior students on earning their spot UNL 2020 homecoming royalty.
