SSD Launches New AIM System for Managing Student Accommodations and Test Proctoring

August 3, 2025

Summer sun shines down on Nebraska Union and Broyhill Fountain

The University of Nebraska–Lincoln’s Services for Students with Disabilities (SSD) is launching a new platform this fall to streamline how student accommodations and test proctoring requests are managed. The Accessible Information Management (AIM) system will provide students and faculty with personalized dashboards to manage accommodation plans—now called Notification Letters for Academic Accommodations—and request paper test proctoring at the SSD Testing Center.

To ensure a smooth transition, SSD is piloting AIM during the second five-week summer session with limited users before full implementation in the fall 2025 semester. All students registered with SSD and faculty with students receiving accommodations will receive AIM instructions on Aug. 8. All faculty will also be introduced to AIM in the first fall semester edition of the faculty newsletter.

Faculty and instructors can access their AIM dashboards using UNL single sign-on credentials here: AIM Faculty Dashboard

Tutorial videos for navigating AIM and submitting test proctoring requests are available here:  AIM Tutorial Videos

SSD Director Barbara Woodhead and staff will present additional details and answer questions about AIM during the Academic Solutions Council meeting on Aug. 6.
