Richter places 2nd in National Communications Contest

Assistant Professor of Practice Kaci Richter took second place in the National Federation of Press Women (NFPW) Communications Contest Talk Show: Radio category on June 11, 2021.

Richter won for an episode titled Talk Box of her radio show, The MixTape, which airs on the University of Nebraska-Lincoln College of Journalism and Mass Communications radio station 90.3 KRNU. The episode features Richter and Travis DeWeese, category manager for Guitar Center, discussing the talk box. This effects unit allows musicians to modify the sound of their instruments and plays ten songs from artists using the effect.

The NFPW National Communications Contest is a two-tiered contest open to anyone regardless of age, gender, professional status or location. The first tier of the contest is run at the state level. First-place winners from the state-level contest and the at-large contests are then moved to the national level of judging.
