Trudy Burge died August 21, 2022. She lived with several chronic illnesses and was a cancer survivor. Trudy grew up in Grosse Pointe, Michigan and Boulder, Colorado. She had lived in Lincoln, Nebraska since 1983. Trudy held degrees from the University of Colorado, Boulder and the College of William and Mary, Williamsburg, Virginia. She was a professor of practice at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln.
Trudy and her husband were united in marriage at Saint Michael's in the Hills Episcopal Church in Ottawa Hills, Ohio. They met in undergraduate school while white water rafting on the Green River in Utah and by graduation had rafted most of the western white water rivers. Many more wonderful adventures followed. One of Trudy's greatest joys was her son, Toby.
Trudy is survived by her husband and best friend, Don; her son Tobias Burge (Jenn Tran), San Jose, California; sister Joanna Berg (Ron), Winchester, Virginia; sister Beverly Beeman, Pasadena, Maryland; sister Mary Allen Swartz, Erie Colorado; and lifelong childhood friend Cheryl Cruickshank, Boulder, Colorado. She was preceded in death by sisters Genevieve Roberts and Emily Nelson.
Funeral services are pending. Burial will be at Mount Auburn Cemetery, Cambridge, Massachusetts.
