This fall, the CoJMC Checkout Room has introduced updated Yellow and Blue kits featuring the Sony PXW-Z90 video camera. These new kits are available alongside the existing JVC 600 series kits, giving students more options for completing video assignments.
The Z90 Blue Kit includes the Sony PXW-Z90V video camera, a handheld microphone, and a power adapter. The Z90 Yellow Kit adds headphones and a wireless microphone set to that list. The original JVC Blue and Yellow kits, which include similar equipment and a JVC 600 series camera, will also remain available.
With the introduction of the Sony Z90 kits, checkout demand is expected to increase. All equipment is available on a first-come, first-served basis. If Sony kits are unavailable, students will be offered a JVC camera or may join a waitlist. Wait times vary based on demand and may range from a few hours to a few days.
This update will impact students in communication design and broadcasting courses, as well as any course that includes a video-based assignment. Students are encouraged to plan ahead and avoid waiting until the last minute to check out their equipment.
