J.J. Jurgens (‘98, ‘00) will visit the College of Journalism and Mass Communications on March 24. Jurgens will guest lecture in CoJMC courses, sharing her experience and expertise in entertainment media.
J.J. Jurgens is a dynamic Creative Director, Writer, Producer, and Editor with more than 25 years of experience in the sports and entertainment industries. Her career began with a bold decision to walk on to the University of Nebraska women’s basketball team during her freshman year, where she discovered her passion for sports production.
While at Nebraska, she worked with HuskerVision, producing coaches' shows and live sporting events. After moving to Los Angeles, J.J. further honed her expertise in sports production, working with the Los Angeles Dodgers and UCLA.
Shifting gears into entertainment, J.J. joined CBS Marketing, starting as a Production Assistant and rising to the role of Vice President, Creative Director. In this leadership position, she spearheaded marketing campaigns for CBS Daytime, managing the promotion of iconic programs such as The Young and the Restless, The Price is Right, Let’s Make a Deal, The Talk and The Bold and the Beautiful.
J.J. also wrote, produced, and edited content for a wide range of hit shows, including The Amazing Race, Star Trek: Discovery, FBI, and The ACM Awards. Her work has earned her numerous accolades, including multiple Promax Awards and an Emmy nomination.
