The Juggling Game:

At the end of the semester, you have a lot of projects, papers, and priorities to juggle. How are you doing keeping everything in the air? Remember, in life we juggle “glass” tasks and “plastic” tasks. Our “glass” tasks are those we have to juggle because they are priorities—they have upcoming deadlines, they help us achieve our goals, they are important. Our “plastic” tasks are those we can drop—they are not as urgent, they can be taken up again at another time, they do not serve our needs right now.

Take an inventory: What are you keeping in the air? What is on the floor? Do you need to pick something up or drop something?

Plan It Out: Write down your major tasks and break them up into smaller tasks spread over the next two weeks so you can see how to prioritize your time. Schedule time blocks for each task but be realistic about how much time you will be able to focus on the same thing. Break tasks up into smaller chunks to maintain focus.
