Jacht Agency becomes PRSSA nationally affiliated

Jacht Agency received the prestigious recognition of becoming a Public Relations Student Society of America (PRSSA) Nationally Affiliated firm. Although there are over 100 student-run firms operated by PRSSA Chapters worldwide, only a select few are PRSSA Nationally Affiliated. 

As part of the national affiliation process, Jacht Agency established  a new Public Relations department as part of the student-run agency. After a semester's worth of planning and collaborating with the University of Nebraska-Lincoln (UNL) PRSSA Chapter, Jacht Agency successfully implemented two Public Relations positions within the agency. 

“It’s an honor to be recognized by the international organization that sets the industry standard for the public relations profession,” says Jemalyn Griffin, who serves as the Director of Jacht Agency and UNL PRSSA faculty advisor. “I’m immensely proud of our students at Jacht Agency for being recognized as a top student-run firm in the country and being given the opportunity to be recognized by PRSSA on a national scale.”  

Firms that wish to be designated as PRSSA Nationally Affiliated undergo a thorough application process reviewed by PRSSA National. Firms need to provide sound evidence that they meet three criteria: a solid PRSSA/PRSA connection, a high level of professionalism, and an effective structure. 

By earning this recognition, Jacht Agency now has access to a client referral system, which allows them to serve and produce meaningful work for clients. Jacht Agency may also apply for national awards for recognition of their client work. 

"Becoming Nationally Affiliated is such an exciting achievement for both Jacht and PRSSA," says Paige Heinemann, Co-Firm Director for UNL PRSSA. "We now have the opportunity to put our skills to work on a larger scale while also continuing to learn and grow in the industry." 

Jacht Agency will continue to provide quality service and work for its clients. With the addition of the Public Relations department and National Affiliation recognition, Jacht Agency can further build their network and be a leader for student-run firms across the country.
