This semester, the college unveiled the newly renovated Freedom Forum Student Commons. Located on the first floor of Andersen Hall, the Commons is a collaborative and adjustable study space that encourages student connection and learning.
The revitalized space features contemporary furniture with adaptable workstations, seating and lighting—accommodating for solo and group study sessions and meeting the college's goal of having a space that meets the needs of students of any major.
"Our goal was to create a space where students feel inspired and supported in their work," said Shari Veil, Jane T. Olson Dean of the College of Journalism and Mass Communications. "The Freedom Forum Student Commons is more than a study space; it's a place where ideas can flourish and students can collaborate on projects that shape their future careers."
The renovation project, made possible by generous donations from alumni and community members, supports the college's mission to provide state-of-the-art resources for its students while fostering a dynamic learning environment.
As students begin to prepare for the fall semester's end, the Freedom Forum Student Commons offers a place to support their academic success and build their communities within Andersen Hall.
