The University of Nebraska-Lincoln took second place in District 9 of the American Advertising Federation’s Virtual National Student Advertising Competition on April 16, 2021. District 9 includes colleges and universities in Nebraska, Iowa, Kansas and Missouri.

Each year, a client provides a brief outlining the history of its product and current challenge. The client brief reflects a real-world marketing challenge. Students must research the company and its competition, identify potential problem areas and devise a completely integrated campaign for the client. Each student team then "pitches" its campaign to a panel of judges. The 2021 client was Tinder.

This year had the largest pool of competitors with a total of 10 teams. The five judges, who represented various disciplines in advertising, were from North Dakota, Arizona, Missouri, Texas and Colorado. UNL’s team lost the first place title by one tenth of a point to long-standing rival, Mizzou.

The UNL National Student Advertising Competition Team is led by Assistant Professor of Practice Kelli Britten, Lecturer Rich Bailey and Lecturer Diane Krajicek. The following is a list of the 2021 UNL NSAC team members, their year, major and hometown:
