Congratulations to three CoJMC alumni on making big strides in their careers. Angel Jennings has been named assistant managing editor for culture and talent at The Los Angeles Times, Hub Brown has been named dean of the College of Journalism and Communication at the University of Florida, and Paige Dimakos has been named CEO of The Draft Network.

Angel Jennings

Jennings’ promotion is one of the LA Times’ first steps to reform their hiring practices to increase diversity and focus-in on how they treat Black and Latino journalists and communities. In Jennings' new role, she’ll “oversee recruiting efforts and staff development initiatives. She will also be in charge of internships and The Times’ Metpro diversity fellowships — the program through which she joined the paper.”

Hub Brown

Brown will start his journey as Dean of University of Florida’s College of Journalism and Communication this upcoming July. “Brown currently serves as associate dean for research, creativity, international initiatives and diversity, and an associate professor of broadcast and digital journalism” at Syracuse University in the Newhouse School of Public Communications.
