Huskers earn Student Luminary Awards

Two University of Nebraska-Lincoln College of Journalism and Mass Communications students earned Student Luminary Awards from UNL Student Affairs on April 12.  

Austine Okorodudu, a master's student studying integrated media communications from Nigeria, was awarded a graduate student Luminary Award.  

Jacob Vanderford was awarded an undergraduate student Luminary Award. Vanderford is a senior double majoring in advertising and public relations and broadcasting from Lincoln.  

The Student Luminary Awards recognize exceptional undergraduate and graduate students who make a difference through their leadership and extraordinary commitment to improving the campus or community while excelling in their academic pursuits.  

"Congratulations to Austine and Jacob on this outstanding achievement. Their dedication to academic excellence and community improvement embodies the spirit of the Student Luminary Awards," said Shari Veil, Jane T. Olson Dean of the College of Journalism and Mass Communications. We are immensely proud of their contributions and commitment to making a difference."
