Hauge inducted into honor society for electronic media students

Junior Hayden Hauge of Ravenna, Nebraska has been inducted into the 2025 class of the Alpha Epsilon Rho (AERho) honor society for electronic media students. 

Hauge is pursuing a quadruple major in broadcasting, journalism, English and film studies. She’s an officer in the college's Nebraska Broadcasting Society, a Broadcasting Education Association (BEA) student club led by club advisor Dr. Laurie Lee. 

This is Hauge's fifth semester being part of the Nebraska Nightly student newscast. Last fall, she helped direct television coverage for election night and this semester she serves as the team’s News Director. 

Hauge represented the college and Nebraska Nightly at the BEA Festival of Media Arts awards celebration on April 6. The crew won first place in the television newscast (three days a week or less) category.

AERho was founded in 1943. This the organization first year under the BEA organization. Prior to 2025, The National Broadcasting Society (NBS) conducted the annual inductions. NBS merged with BEA in 2023. Membership in AERho exemplifies excellence of work, demonstrated leadership qualities, and service to the community, and the industry.  

Hauge is an officer in the COJMC’s Nebraska Broadcasting Society, a BEA student club. The club advisor is Dr. Laurie Lee.
