We're excited to welcome two German student journalists to the College of Journalism and Mass Communications as part of an exchange program fellowship in partnership with the Radio Television Digital News Association (RTDNA) and the RIAS Berlin Commission. Clara Dünkler and Jette Minks will visit campus from March 23 to April 4, engaging with students, faculty, and media professionals to gain insight into American journalism.

Before arriving at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln, Dünkler and Minks spent a week in Washington, D.C., visiting NPR, WTOP, NBC 4, New America, the Cook Report and the Capitol.

Dünkler is currently pursuing a master's degree in journalism at the University of Leipzig, where she specializes in data journalism. She's also interested in investigative reporting and previously published an in-depth piece on a right-wing media agency in Saxony.

Dünkler has worked for many German newspapers, including Süddeutsche Zeitung and taz die tageszeitung. She's worked on projects covering digital security, women's rights and climate journalism.

Minks studies journalism with a focus on politics at the University of Applied Sciences Magdeburg-Stendal. She's gained professional experience through internships at Mallorca Zeitung, Inselradio Mallorca and Volksstimme. Additionally, she worked in social media and communications within the German Bundestag.

Her journalistic interests center around international politics, particularly EU and transatlantic relations. Minks aspires to pursue a career as a print journalist in an international setting.

The RIAS Berlin Commission is a binational organization that promotes German-American understanding in broadcasting. Since 1993, the RTDNF has co-sponsored and administered exchange programs to give journalists the opportunity to learn directly about Germany's culture, politics and practice of journalism through the exchange program.
