You’ve made it to finals week! Stress levels may be high. Please take care of yourself during this time. Feeling overwhelmed? You Can Do This. You have the tools and resources in our College and on campus to help you get through the end of the semester. You have made it this far—don’t give up now.
Study Strategies:
- Make a master To Do list organized by due dates and exams
- Get started. Do NOT put tasks off until you feel like doing them. Start now!
- Prioritize your study time
- Attend ANY available review sessions and complete ALL study guides
- Seek out professors, tutors or academic coaches for assistance
- Take advantage of campus resources
- Always carry something you can work on (ex. assignments, notecards)
- Form a study group with friends
- Make sure to take time to exercise and eat healthy foods
- Take short breaks when studying
- Make sure to get enough sleep
During Exams:
- Read all directions carefully before answering
- Answer easy questions first
- Double-check to make sure you haven’t skipped any questions
- Pace yourself during the exam
- Make it easy on the grader: write neatly, show all work, and begin to give your answer in the first sentence of essay
- Develop essay questions fully
- Use all the allotted time to proofread
- Take a few deep breaths if you get stuck
- Ask your instructor for an explanation of unclear items
