Junior Advertising and Public Relations and Graphic Design double major, Destiney Chitrodom decided to add ADPR onto her studies at the beginning of her sophomore year.

“I always knew I wanted to incorporate my design knowledge into something even bigger, and I heard so many great things about CoJMC from my peers and professors.”

Destiney likes that she’s able to use creativity in both of her majors and learn about the strategy side in advertising. She gets to use those skills specifically at her internship with Simple Strat where she creates graphics for social media and other design pieces for their clients. Destiney is also a graphic designer at our student-led advertising firm Jacht— she even designed this year’s class t-shirt!

A fun fact about Destiney is that she has family in Thailand—which is why it’s her favorite place to visit! She loves being able to reconnect with her family, and at the same time she's able to be a tourist and visit new places. Last time she was in Thailand she went to an elephant sanctuary to wash and play with the elephants there.

Destiney’s advice for current and prospective students is to push yourself creatively!

“When you're done with a project, step back from it and come back a few days later to see if your thoughts/ideas have changed. I think it’s good to say that a project is never completely finished because there are always ways to improve upon it.”
