The College of Journalism and Mass Communications at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln is proud to announce that Shari Veil, the Jane T. Olson Dean, has been elected as the Large/XL-sized Program Representative for the Association of Schools of Journalism and Mass Communication (ASJMC).
Veil brings a wealth of experience and a visionary approach to her new role within ASJMC. As the Large/XL-sized Program Representative, she will be instrumental in representing and addressing the unique needs and challenges of large journalism and mass communication academic programs across the nation.
Under Veil's leadership, the CoJMC has seen significant advancements in curriculum innovation, student engagement and industry partnerships. Her election to the ASJMC board is a testament to her dedication to excellence in education and her unwavering support for the next generation of media professionals.
"I am deeply honored to be elected as the Large/XL-sized Program Representative for ASJMC,” Veil said. “I look forward to collaborating with colleagues across the country to advocate for the needs of our students and students enrolled in journalism and mass communication nationwide.”
Veil's appointment officially commenced at the ASJMC annual conference this August, where she joined fellow representatives and board members in discussions to begin developing initiatives aimed at strengthening journalism and mass communication programs.
