College to co-sponsor AMA Skillschool

Friday, September 2, 2022 - 7:00am

The UNL College of Journalism and Mass Communications will co-sponsor the 2022-2023 American Marketing Association of Lincoln Skillschool again this year.

“We are thrilled to be partnering with the AMA on Skillschool this year,” said Shari Veil, dean of the UNL College of Journalism and Mass Communications. “Our partnership will provide current students the opportunity to network with and learn alongside local professionals.”

AMA Skillschool is a series of workshops designed to provide marketing and communication professionals with continuing education in important industry trends and topics. The 2022-2023 season will include a 4-part workshop series focused on building a marketing plan. Each 3-hour workshop will provide a comprehensive understanding of a critical component of marketing, followed by a work session with an industry expert.

Thanks to the college’s co-sponsorship, all students enrolled in UNL’s CoJMC will have the opportunity to attend the AMA Skillschool workshops free of charge.

The first workshop, Building a Marketing Plan the Right Way, will feature Tarah Neujarh Bryan, chief brand and communications officer, for Catalyst Health in Salt Lake City. The workshops will be held on Sept. 30, 2022, from 10:30 to noon on Zoom or in person in the Agency, located on the third floor of the Lincoln Children’s Museum.

The workshop is available free to AMA members and UNL CoJMC students and available for non-members for $50 (in-person) or $20 (Zoom). All participants must register at https://www.amalincoln.org/event/skill-school-building-a-marketing-plan-the-right-way/.
