CoJMC faculty and staff honored at Celebration of Service

The University of Nebraska–Lincoln will honor more than 900 employees during the 2025 Celebration of Service, scheduled for 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Oct. 3 at the Coliseum. The annual event recognizes employees in five-year increments of service, with a special presentation at noon for those who have served 45, 50 or 60 years.

Six members of the College of Journalism and Mass Communications will be recognized at this year’s celebration.

Alan Eno Headshot
Alan Eno, 15 years

Alan Eno will be recognized for 15 years of service. Eno is an associate professor of practice who teaches in the Communication Design program. He helps students build technical skills in multimedia, design and production while encouraging creativity and collaboration. Before joining the college full-time, he worked in design and media production.

 

Chris Graves headshot
Chris Graves, 5 years

Christine Graves will be recognized for five years of service. Graves is the Deepe Chair in Depth Reporting and an associate professor of practice. She teaches courses in narrative, investigative and solutions journalism, and leads the college’s investigative reporting track. Before joining UNL in 2020, she spent more than 30 years in newspapers, television and public radio.

 

Tiffany Groteluschen Headshot
Tiffany Groteluschen, 10 years

Tiffany Groteluschen will be recognized for 10 years of service. Groteluschen serves as the college’s administrative coordinator, managing front-line services for students, faculty and staff, supervising student workers and supporting college operations. Before her current role, she worked at the UNL Children’s Center.

 

Shari Veil Headshot
Shari Veil, 5 years

Shari Veil will be recognized for five years of service. Veil is the Jane T. Olson Endowed Dean of the College of Journalism and Mass Communications. Since joining UNL in 2020, she has advanced the college’s mission of experiential learning, expanded its industry partnerships and strengthened research and creative activity. She previously served as associate dean for undergraduate affairs at the University of Kentucky’s College of Communication and Information, where she also directed the Risk Sciences Division and was department chair in communication.

Jessica Walsh Headshot
Jessica Walsh, 5 years

Jessica Walsh will be recognized for five years of service. Walsh is an assistant professor of practice who teaches reporting and writing courses. She brings extensive professional experience in journalism to the classroom, having previously worked at newspapers across the Midwest and New England.

 

Changmin Yan headshot
Changmin Yan, 10 years

Changmin Yan will be recognized for 10 years of service. Yan is an associate professor whose teaching and research focus on persuasion, health communication, diversity and inclusion, and research methodology. He has contributed to the college’s global engagement efforts and previously taught at universities in both the United States and China.

The Celebration of Service honors the dedication and commitment of faculty and staff across the university. Lunch will be served, and all employees are invited to attend.
