When Shari Veil assumed the role of dean of the University of Nebraska-Lincoln College of Journalism and Mass Communications in July 2020, she was determined to continue hosting alumni events despite the COVID-19 global pandemic.
On Thursday evenings in the fall of 2020, the college hosted alumni events around the country, first by region and then as reunions for seven decades of graduates via Zoom.
“So many of our alumni have had impressive career paths,” said Shari Veil, dean of the College of Journalism and Mass Communications. “ It has been a genuine pleasure to get to know them and to hear their stories. I love being able to see the college through their eyes.”
