Cory Armstrong, associate dean for research and faculty affairs in the College of Journalism and Mass Communications, is set to be honored with the prestigious Outstanding Woman in Journalism & Mass Communication Education Award by the Association for Education in Journalism and Mass Communications' Commission on the Status of Women.
This highly acclaimed award recognizes individuals who have exemplified women's representation through personal excellence and dedication to upholding high journalism and mass communication education standards. Armstrong's exceptional leadership and unwavering advocacy for women in the field were key factors in her selection. As one reviewer noted of the letters of support, "without exception, they point not only to [Dr. Armstrong's] numerous impressive achievements and robust scholarship, but also to her strong work ethic, advocacy on behalf of women, willingness and ability to take on difficult topics using a collaborative approach, and commitment to fairness."
