About the programs
Bateman
The Bateman Case Study Competition will put your skills to the test in a real-world challenge with positive social impact. The CoJMC team will compete against other universities and colleges nationwide to research, plan, implement and evaluate the most effective public relations campaign. Last spring, the CoJMC team won first place nationally. Participation spans fall and spring semester; research and planning begins in October, and then creating, implementing, and evaluating the campaign happens during spring semester. Some prior experience in public relations, either through internships or class projects, would be helpful, but anyone is welcome to apply.
Bateman can be taken as an ADPR 300/400 level elective, CoJMC elective, general elective or a capstone for Advertising and Public Relations seniors (89+ earned credit hours at the end of the Fall 2022 semester).

Global Eyewitness
Global Eyewitness is a two-part learning lab and intense study experience during which students gain a deep understanding of cultures, histories and contemporary issues to create rich and contextualized written and multimedia stories told with empathy, integrity and accountability. We will travel to the Pine Ridge Indian Reservation twice: Once over spring break and once for two weeks at the conclusion of the semester. The program is endowed, meaning student transportation and lodging is paid for. The planned topic: Indigenious boarding schools. Students are required to take 490B, which is the production of the work, in Fall 2023.
