We’ve had a very noisy summer so far in the College of Journalism and Mass Communications. Construction continues on the Don and Lorena Meier TV Studio and Newsroom on the second floor in Andersen Hall.
- In June, Midwest Demolition started the transformation of Andersen Hall's second floor becoming the Don and Lorena Meier TV Studio and Newsroom.
- For two weeks the crew tore up offices and other structures on the second floor that are not needed for the studio.
- The following week, Midwest Demolition prepared the concrete in the studio for new flooring. It was a loud process that was heard and even felt on all of Andersen Hall's floors. Fortunately, they wrapped up the flooring process quickly.
- Currently, Rogge Construction is framing out the new control room. This space will house state-of-the-art equipment to support our college newscast and all the media our students can create.
- Control room framing is complete.
Over in The Agency, the Perry Family Photography Studio and Multimedia Classroom is getting new flooring, paint and a drop ceiling.
- Work also continues in the new Perry classroom in the Agency. Paul Davis Construction is busy patching, painting and installing flooring to create a classroom for our ADPR capstone courses.
- Paul Davis Construction will also be installing a drop ceiling to dampen the noise coming to and from the classroom.
- The hallway is being transformed into a photo studio that will house a backdrop and dark room.

- The partnership with Pepsi-Cola of Lincoln provides dedicated space for the Unlimited Sports Experience Lab and underwrites game day coverage of Husker sports on KRNU.
KRNU got a facelift!
- Rick Alloway snapped one last photo of the outside of KRNU before construction began.
- Revolution Wraps removed the letters above KRNU's windows before starting the wrap.
- Now, KRNU proudly displays Roy Lenwell Studios.
