The College of Journalism and Mass Communications has recently selected its new cohort of peer mentors for the 2022-2023 school year.

During the First Year Experience class, a required course for all first-semester students in the college, students are assigned to a peer mentor. Mentors offer advice on topics they wish they had known as a freshman to help first-year students build relationships and navigate college successfully.

“I am so excited for our incoming first-year students to meet their peer mentors this upcoming fall semester,” said Bridgett Grant, an academic advisor in CoJMC and the advisor for the CoJMC peer mentor program.

“We have a wonderful cohort of peer mentors that will be serving our new students and I could not be more proud of this group of leaders. They are ready and excited to start interacting with their students and help navigate their mentees through their semester here at UNL.”
