The Experience Lab

UNLimited Sports is a student-run publication in which you can be a media professional on the sidelines or in the broadcast booth. Write and report stories, interview athletes or gather content at sporting events.

Earn an esports certificate with any major and explore careers in this rapidly growing industry. From marketing tournaments to producing live events, students can be part of the action with Nebraska Esports.
Learning Community

Beginning Sports Writing for News and Promotion (SPMC 250)
Introduction to a variety of writing styles and techniques to develop effective sports-oriented communications for diverse audiences and media.
Sports Writing and Reporting (SPMC 326)
Sports reporting through clear writing; principles of sports stories; thinking critically about sports media; fundamentals of good reporting and writing apply to sports.
Sports Data Visualization and Analytics (SPMC 350)

HuskerVision hires student production interns to help run the production of Husker athletic events. Operate cameras, run the instant replay system, create hype videos and participate in behind-the-scenes production duties.

Travel to Barcelona, Spain with faculty to fully immerse in sports media culture overseas. Visit broadcast facilities and professional soccer team media departments to see facilities and credentials.

Bill Doleman, Assistant Professor of Practice
Bill Doleman teaches sports broadcasting and sports writing courses and specializes in broadcast performance, helping students build confidence on camera. His experience with Comcast SportsNet Houston, The Mountain Network and NBC Olympics brings industry insight for aspiring professionals.
