Nancy Kelsey
M.A. News-Editorial
Nancy Kelsey, a graduate assistant in the College of Journalism, received her Bachelor of Arts in Journalism from Creighton University, and is currently working on her Master of Arts with an emphasis in News-Editorial in the College of Journalism. With her strong interest in news-editorial, Nancy chose this program because she was impressed by the flexibility to take classes in many subject areas in addition to journalism. She felt this combination of classes would strengthen her as a reporter. After receiving her undergraduate degree, Nancy spent two years as an AmeriCorps volunteer in Pine Ridge, South Dakota, as a teacher. Formerly from Cleveland, Ohio, Nancy enjoys traveling to unique destinations of historical significance and in nature, especially waterfalls. She also likes learning about new cultures, sampling the cuisine from countries around the world, going to powwows, writing, listening to good live music, speaking Spanish, volunteering, and watching the Cavaliers dominate the NBA. Nancy's strong work ethic and diverse interests continuously encourage her to accomplish her goal to one day be a writer in a newsroom. She is still trying to figure out whether she wants to be a reporter, columnist or editorial writer. Her true interests lie in writing about Native American issues on a national level.
