Jacht Agency announces new members for spring semester

Jacht Agency is excited to announce its student crew for the spring 2024 semester. This semester, there are 48 “Jachters,” who represent students from different backgrounds and majors at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln (UNL). 

Huskers travel to 2024 Iowa Caucuses

Twelve Huskers enrolled in the College of Journalism and Mass Communications pre-session pop-up course “Covering the Iowa Caucuses in 2024” traveled to the 2024 Iowa Caucuses on Jan. 15.

Purdum and McCurry to deliver Seline Lecture April 25

In a pivotal presidential election year, two distinguished veterans of politics who played at the highest levels will share their insights on campus in April.

Todd Purdum, who covered the Clinton White House for The New York Times, will face off with Mike McCurry, who served as press secretary for President Clinton. 

Nominations open for faculty and staff awards

The University of Nebraska-Lincoln's College of Journalism and Mass Communications is accepting nominations for the annual faculty and staff awards. Nominations will be accepted from faculty, staff, students, alumni and friends of the college. Nominations for the awards are due by March 31. Please submit a nomination form and optional (1-page max) letters of support. 

CoJMC Staff Council announces January Not Too Shabby awards

The College of Journalism and Mass Communications Staff Council announced the January Not Too Shabby Award winners. Assistant Professor of Practice Kristian Anderson received the faculty award, and Technical Director Jamie Wenz received the staff award. 

Hands-on journalism lessons fuel Fernando’s recruitment work

Alex Fernando’s knowledge of Husker sports and his extensive collection of memorabilia, including items from belt buckles to posters to red suits, earned him a nickname among friends: Mr. Husker.

Housenga is Super Bowl ready as part of NFL Network

Aaron Housenga loaded up on hands-on experiences as a sports media and communication and broadcast double major at the University of Nebraska–Lincoln. Today, he is an associate producer for the NFL Network and will work this Sunday as part of the Super Bowl team.

Doyle named January Student of the Month

The University of Nebraska-Lincoln College of Journalism and Mass Communications announces Seamus Doyle as the January Student of the Month. Doyle, a junior broadcasting major from Spring, Texas, was recognized for his commitment to learning about research. 

Professionals-in-residence join spring 2024 Experience Lab

Twenty-two industry experts will join the Experience Lab as professionals-in-residence at UNL’s College of Journalism and Mass Communications for the spring 2024 semester.
