Nominations open for faculty and staff awards

The University of Nebraska-Lincoln's College of Journalism and Mass Communications is accepting nominations for the annual faculty and staff awards. Nominations will be accepted from faculty, staff, students, alumni and friends of the college. Nominations for the awards are due by March 31. Please submit a nomination form and optional (1-page max) letters of support.

The awards are: 

Excellence in Teaching: presented in honor and recognition of a meritorious record of excellence in teaching and/or innovation related to a teaching program. Open to all full-time faculty. 

Excellence in Research/Creative Activity: presented in honor and recognition of a meritorious record of excellence in research and/or creative activity. Open to all full-time faculty. 

Excellence in Industry or Community Engagement: presented in honor and recognition of a meritorious record of industry or community engagement that has an impact beyond the university. Open to all full-time faculty and staff.  

Excellence in Student Support or Advocacy: presented in honor and recognition of a meritorious record of service to students in the College of Journalism and Mass Communications. Open to all full-time faculty and staff. 

Staff Excellence:  presented in honor of a staff member who routinely demonstrates excellence in the execution of their duties. Open to all full-time staff. 

Inclusive Excellence: presented in honor of a faculty or staff member who has created a climate that emphasizes, prioritizes and expands inclusive excellence and diversity in the college. Open to all full-time faculty and staff.

Friend of the College: honors a part-time faculty member, professional-in-residence, guest speaker or another individual who has made a significant impact on the college's students, faculty or staff.

To Infinity and Beyond:  presented in honor of a faculty or staff member who epitomizes the college values of: our students do from day one, we solve real problems, we believe in hard work, we pursue truth, we nurture curious and creative minds, we are an inclusive community, our professions are ever-changing and our graduates thrive. Open to all full-time faculty and staff.

Each award winner will receive a $250 cash prize and recognition for their contributions to the college and the field.
