Part of the College of Journalism and Mass Communications’ Experience Lab, Nebraska Nightly offers students the real-world experience of producing a live broadcast every week. For Jay Quemado, a junior from El Paso, Texas, the program solidified his calling in TV broadcasting.

Alumni Master Charlie Arnot inspires students with trust-building approach to strategy

Charlie Arnot, founder and CEO of Look East and founder of the Center for Food Integrity, was honored as the 2024 CoJMC Alumni Master during Masters Week from April 3-5. Alumni Masters Week is a program sponsored by the Nebraska Alumni Association (NAA), the Student Alumni Association Board of Directors and the UNL Chancellor's Office. During Masters Week, outstanding alumni return to campus to share their experiences and knowledge with students.

One of the new members is CoJMC alumna Sarah Baker Hansen (‘01), food critic at Grow Omaha and director of public and media relations at Emspace + Lovgren.

Faculty, staff and students win March Awards

In March, we celebrated the achievements of our students, faculty and staff at the College of Journalism and Mass Communications. Shoun Hill was named the March Professor of the Month, Naomi Delkamiller was named the March Student of the Month, and Zac Franzen and Kaci Richter received the February Not Too Shabby Awards.

Alumna to receive 2024 Leadership Nebraska Award

Jennifer Higgins ('96) will be presented with the Nebraska Press Association's 2024 Leadership Nebraska Award on April 26 during the NPA annual convention.
