Good afternoon,
As you may have heard, Professor Sue Roush died unexpectedly yesterday afternoon.
Many of you knew Sue as a passionate teacher who was committed to her craft and dedicated to her students. Sue has served the college in many ways over the years, as a student, a staff member, a teacher, a mentor and friend. Her death is a tremendous loss to the CoJMC Family.
There are several resources available on campus to assist you as you cope with this news. I encourage all of you to make use of these resources if you find yourself struggling in the coming days and weeks.
- Counseling and Psychological Services (CAPS): offers counseling and information on grieving
- Big Red Resilience & Well-being – offers peer coaches and can help make referrals to other services if needed
- Student Affairs Advocacy & Support – students experiencing any personal hardship may connect with a staff member to process a difficult situation and explore strategies for resolving concerns or connecting with ongoing support
- Association of Campus Religious Workers (ACReW) – Can help connect you with local ecclesiastical leaders
If you find yourself struggling, please reach out to these services or to any member of the CoJMC faculty and staff.
Sincerely,
Amy Struthers, Ph.D.
Interim Dean and Professor
