For Drew Baldridge, a passion for giving back to communities around the world has been a constant since he was little. Now, the advertising and public relations major from York, Nebraska, is continuing to be a “champion of people” on campus and beyond.

Nebraska journalism course provides data for Flatwater Free Press’ latest story

The newest project from Nebraska’s independent and nonprofit newsroom The Flatwater Free Press features stories that spotlight seven out-of-state buyers who have spent nearly $250 million on Nebraska farmland.

Class Intercom, the leading provider of school social media management software, worked with Nebraska’s College of Journalism and Mass Communications for their fourth annual Content Generation Workshop. The student-focused event was held on Wednesday, Oct. 18 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. CT at a combination of in-person locations and was accessible to virtual attendees at schools nationwide.

Two current College of Journalism and Mass Communications Majors, Tyler Hurst and Broderick (Brody) Wilken, and one alum, Avery Jelinek, won the 2023 American Association of Professional Baseball Social Media Team of the Year for their work with the Lincoln Salt Dogs.

Neill named November Student of the Month

The University of Nebraska-Lincoln's College of Journalism and Mass Communications proudly announces Alex Neill as the November Student of the Month. Neill, a senior broadcasting and sports media and communication double major from Lebanon, Tennessee, was recognized for his leadership and work with the campus radio station 90.3 KRNU.
