Since 1954, the University of Nebraska-Lincoln College of Journalism and Mass Communications has held the unique distinction of being Nebraska's only accredited journalism and mass communications program. Accreditation, a rigorous evaluation against established standards, underscores our commitment to quality and integrity. This process, undertaken every six years, assures students, parents and the broader community of our unwavering dedication to excellence.
This year marks our reaccreditation review by the Accrediting Council on Education in Journalism and Mass Communications (ACEJMC). From Nov. 12-15, an ACEJMC site team will be on campus to assess our program. Your firsthand experience and insights as students are pivotal; your feedback offers the team an authentic glimpse into daily life at our college and ensures we uphold the pinnacle of educational standards.
We are excited to invite you to meet with the accrediting site team members. They are eager to hear about your experiences and will ask questions to better understand your journey in the college. There are two distinct opportunities to participate:
General Meeting:
- Date: Monday, Nov. 13
- Time: 10-11 a.m.
- Location: Room 336 Andersen Hall
- Who: Students from across the college are invited.
Major-Specific Meetings:
- Date: Tuesday, Nov. 14
- Time: 10-10:45 a.m.
- Locations:

- Broadcasting: Room 324
- Journalism: Room 120
- Sports Media and Communication: Room 323
