Jacht Agency announces its first annual outreach event, Jachtventure. What started as a discussion about student agencies in Nebraska blossomed into a bigger conversation about all student advertising firms across the country. From this, the idea of Jachtventure was born.
Jachtventure’s mission is for student-run agencies to share best practices, promote future collaboration and allow students and faculty to network with each other across the country. This event is to take place virtually on May 6 from 10 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. CT.
“Jacht is a premiere program at University of Nebraska - Lincoln (UNL) and we wanted to extend our reach beyond the state and encourage other students to share their organization’s best practices and experiences,” said Executive Director of Jacht, Jemalyn Griffin.
The three agencies in attendance will be Jacht, UNL’s student-run advertising agency through the College of Journalism and Mass Communications. Lindsey + ASP is a student-run advertising agency through the Gaylord College of Journalism and Mass Communications at the University of Oklahoma in Norman, Oklahoma. Lastly, ScarletPR is a student-run public relations firm founded and maintained by a group of Rutgers University students in New Brunswick, N.J. The Public Relations team has worked diligently throughout the semester to reach out to these schools and plan this event.
Public relations specialist, Sara Schulz mentioned, “In future semesters and years to come, we hope that other public relations teams will help to continue to grow this event and eventually feature a wide range of student-run agencies located from coast-to-coast.”
Jacht Agency is a full-service, student-run advertising agency through the College of Journalism and Mass Communications.
