We had packed house over the weekend as alums traveled across the country to celebrate the life and legacy of Professor George Tuck. Speakers included CoJMC alums Jennifer Gutierrez (‘90), Mike Theiler (‘76), Julia Dean (‘92), Joel Sartore (‘85) and George and Mary Lynn’s dear friend Sherri Johnson. Five Huskers win awards to support summer internships

Five UNL College of Journalism and Mass Communications students received internship awards to support their summer internships. Internship awards provide students with funding to help offset the cost of pursuing unpaid internships, low-paid internships or internships located in large cities.

Husker alumni win three Pulitzer Prizes for journalism excellence

The University of Nebraska-Lincoln's College of Journalism and Mass Communications is proud to announce that three alumni have won Pulitzer Prizes. Angel Jennings, Lauryn Higgins and Kelly Ann Scott have each been recognized for their outstanding work in journalism.

Four alumni recognized at 2023 PRISM Awards

Four University of Nebraska-Lincoln alumni have received recognition at the 2023 PRISM Awards, organized by the American Marketing Association Lincoln Chapter. The awards ceremony took place on May 9, 2023, at The Cornhusker Marriott Hotel in Lincoln.

Jacob Vanderford, junior, advertising and public relations and sports media and communication major, receives the Student Leadership Award at the UNL Student Impact Awards on May 4.

Jacob Vanderford, a junior studying advertising and public relations and sports media and communication from Lincoln, was recently honored with the Student Leadership Award at the 2022-2023 University of Nebraska-Lincoln Student Impact Awards. This prestigious award recognizes Vanderford's exceptional leadership skills and his significant contributions to the university community.

Nathan Hé is presented the Chancellor’s Award for Outstanding Contributions to the GLBT Community by Chancellor Ronnie Green on May 4, 2023.

Students, alum honored at Nebraska Lavender Graduation

On May 4, the University of Nebraska held its annual Lavender Graduation ceremony to celebrate the achievements of graduating LGBTQA+ students on campus. Among the honorees were two students and one alum from the College of Journalism and Mass Communications.

Sports media elevates Gross’ passion to next level
