The end of the year provides a great opportunity to welcome our incredible alumni back to campus. In the last month we welcomed back MRM Global Creative Director Ronald Ng (’93) and New York Times Reporter Dionne Searcey (’93) to talk about their experience in global advertising and journalism. We also celebrated the opening of Joel Sartore’s (‘86) ‘Photo Ark’ exhibit at Morrill Hall and Vern Powers’ (’84) honor with the Jeff Vaske Service in Entrepreneurship Award.

Bruce Thorson

Bruce Thorson to teach in Indonesia

The U.S. Embassy Jakarta has invited Bruce Thorson, associate professor of journalism, to teach in Indonesia for two weeks in March. He will train students and early career journalists in photojournalism and multimedia, and how to develop sources, fact check and improve storytelling skills.

Two CoJMC students earn first-place honors in Big Ten speech and debate tournament

Daniel Wheaton, Toni Karaus, Reece Ristau and Linsey Armstrong of the College of Journalism and Mass Communication helped the University of Nebraska-Lincoln speech and debate team earn its fourth Big Ten title.

ADPR students create '3 percent University of Nebraska–Lincoln' collegiate chapter

CoJMC public relations' students participate in The Bateman Competition

Public relations students at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln will be competing for the first time against colleges across the nation to develop and present a comprehensive public relations campaign in the Bateman Competition. The Public Relations Student Society of America sponsors the annual case study competition.
