Monday, November 23, 2020 - 7:30pm

The inaugural class of Nebraska Governance and Technology student fellows includes four students from the College of Journalism and Mass Communications. Alex Paun, Brandi Bue, Jasmine Alexander and Rafael Maschieri Bicudo will spend the 2020-2021 academic year researching the challenges of changing technology.

All four students are in the Integrated Media Communication graduate program.

Paun plans to explore how market research can be used to better connect with both large and small audiences.

Bue wants to know the role of tech and social media in journalism. Her studies will feature an emphasis on the intersection of tech, social media, and public perceptions of media.

Bicudo is interested in exploring user data protection issues related to social media as an advertising platform.

Alexander hopes to learn more about the interconnected relationship between governance and technology and discover what needs to be improved. She also wants to explore untapped areas in technology.
