Trudy Burge is a lecturer and Coordinator for Business and Technical Writing in the College of Journalism and Mass Communications. She started teaching business writing classes for the University of Nebraska Lincoln in 1983.
In addition to teaching, Trudy worked for the Association for Evolutionary Economics (AFEE), located in the College of Business, for 15 years. Trudy served as the administrator for the local office, managing subscriptions for the Journal of Evolutionary Economics and coordinating the annual convention.
Before starting at the university, she taught writing and English courses at community colleges located in Maysville, Ky., and Toledo, Ohio.
She earned a bachelor's degree in English from the University of Colorado at Boulder and a master's degree from the College of William and Mary in Virginia.
Her work on committees at University of Nebraska–Lincoln includes helping to introduce Achievement Centered Education (ACE) as one of the ACE course facilitators for the CoJMC, 2008-2009; working on the Spencer-Teagle ACE Assessment committee; serving on focus groups through the Faculty Leadership for Writing Initiative; participating in the Program Excellence through Assessment Research and Learning (PEARL); and participating in the Peer Review of Teaching.
She is a member of the International Association for Business Communicators (IABC); Association for Business Communication (ABC); and Nebraska Press Women (NPW).
