Engage Lincoln - Volunteer Projects

Join fellow Huskers volunteering at nonprofit organizations connected to addressing community needs. Each day will feature a different nonprofit organization you can volunteer for.

Wednesday, October 16 | 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.

Project Connect Lincoln

Project Connect Lincoln is a “one-stop shop” of health and human services for people experiencing homelessness. Volunteers will help by serving as navigators and leading someone through the different booths available.

Monday, October 28 | 10:00 a.m. to Noon

Nebraska Diaper Bank

Nebraska Diaper Bank distributes diapers to families in need across the state. Volunteers will have the opportunity to assemble diaper kits and distribute diapers to community members.

Tuesday, October 29 | 3:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m.

Belmont Community Center

The BCC continues to adapt and partner with surrounding stakeholders to best identify, define, and support the social, cultural, recreational, and educational needs of the Belmont community. Volunteers will have the opportunity to organize donations, play games with you (kickball, tag, basketball, board games) and doing arts and crafts.

Wednesday, October 30 | 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m.

El Centro De Las and Aging Partners

A culture center focused on the promotion of Awareness, Appreciation, and Acceptance of Diversity through cultural activities and education. Volunteers will have the opportunity to play board games with seniors, help seniors use a mobile phone and organize donations.

Thursday, October 31 | 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.

F Street Community Center

As a part of Lincoln Parks and Recreation, “F” Street Community Center is committed to creating a safe, fun, recreation-based environment where children, adults and senior citizens can come together. . Volunteers will have the opportunity help with a Halloween event, distribute candy and Facilite activities for youth.

Saturday, November 2 | 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m.

Lincoln Parks and Sunken Garden

The Lincoln Parks and Recreation Public Garden Section created the event to involve residents in the joy of gardening at Sunken Gardens. Volunteers will help with dumping buckets of dirt into flower beds and turning the soil materials with a shovel.
