Students at the College of Journalism and Mass Communications have a lot to be thankful for this year. With Thanksgiving break starting Wednesday, Nov. 22, students are making plans for the three day break and thinking about what they are grateful for.

Lauren Tritch, a freshman advertising and public relations student, is thankful for her safety and good health for all her loved ones. Her thanksgiving break plans include seeing friends from high school, shopping and taking naps in front of the TV.

Collin Spilinek, a junior journalism and broadcasting student, is thankful for the support of his family, friends and life itself. He is planning on returning to Hastings, his hometown, and will eat dinner with his family.

Taylor Lynch, a senior journalism and nutrition, education and health science student, is thankful for her family and is planning on spending the holiday with her extended family and her fiance’s family.

Jamdan Clang, a graduate student in the integrated media communications program, is thankful for his family, friends and the opportunity to continue his education and teach. He is planning on spending the holiday with his girlfriend’s family in Fremont.

Students were asked what they were thankful for and their answers were put into a word cloud. The larger the word, the most times it was mentioned in the students’ responses.

Thankful word cloud
The word cloud shows what students are the most thankful for.
