Business & Technical Communications
Angel McMullen-Gunn is an adjunct technical communications lecturer at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln College of Journalism and Mass Communications. She teaches Technical Communications, an introduction to written and oral communication, and document design principles applied in the sciences and technology.
Angel is also Associate Director of Operations Modernization at Collins Aerospace, a Raytheon Technologies Corporation. She has nearly two decades of experience in international manufacturing operations, with a wide range of quality, materials, and manufacturing engineering expertise, including compliance knowledge, lean and six-sigma implementation, and hydraulic systems design, manufacture, test, and application proficiency.
She has received numerous awards, including being named as the top 0.2% of all Collins engineers, as a Collins Aerospace Engineer of the Year Award Finalist (2020); the Society of Women Engineers Global Leadership (2020), and Emerging Leader (2018) Awards; a Manufacturing Institute Science, Technology, Engineering and Production (STEP) Ahead Award (2018) winner; one of Plant Engineering Magazine’s Engineering Leaders Under 40 (2017), and one of UNL’s 2017 Women of Character, Courage, and Commitment.
Her educational background includes a BS in Mechanical Engineering and MEng Engineering Management, both from the University of Nebraska – Lincoln, and an MS Quality Systems Management with Six Sigma Black Belt Certification from the National Graduate School of Quality Management of Falmouth, Massachusetts. She and her husband live outside of Lincoln with their two children and enjoy traveling and camping together.
