Courtney Hunt-Munther
M.A. News-Editorial
Courtney Hunt-Munther chose the CoJMC master's program because she is living in a remote region of California and working full-time didn't leave her with a lot of options when she decided to pursue a graduate degree in journalism. The local university didn't have a graduate journalism program and she was looking for something that allowed me to stay near her family. A colleague who had received her MA in journalism through the distance education program at UNL recommended it to her and Courtney is so glad she did. She is so very thankful to UNL for providing this distance program – she wouldn't have had the opportunity to pursue a master's degree without it. The professors have been great, especially her advisor, John Bender, and Phyllis Vance Larsen in the Advertising department. When Courtney started the program, she was working as a reporter for a small daily newspaper in Eureka, California. Now she work as the public information officer for two hospitals in the area and look forward to using her degree from UNL to advance her career in public relations and marketing. Courtney's hobbies include reading, writing, outdoor activities and spending time at the lake, loving her husband and Boston terrier.
