Lindemann wins the 2024 Grimes Memorial Competition

The University of Nebraska-Lincoln College of Journalism and Mass Communications announced on March 27 that Marissa Lindemann is the 2024 George and Eva Grimes Memorial Competition winner. Lindemann is a sophomore broadcasting and journalism double major from Des Moines, Iowa.

Faculty, staff and students win February awards

In February, we celebrated numerous achievements of our students, faculty and staff at the College of Journalism and Mass Communications. Bill Doleman was named the February Professor of the Month, Hannah Roebke was awarded the February Student of the Month and Adam Wagler, Haley Hamel and Alisa Smith were selected as the February Not Too Shabby award winners.

Rodriguez wins the 2024 Perry Photojournalism Challenge

Roxana Rodriguez, a junior advertising and public relations major from Wood River, won the top prize in the 2024 Philip Perry Photojournalism Challenge for her essay "402: Hispanic Businesses Growing the Nebraskan Economy and Culture." Rodriguez will receive a $7,000 scholarship to complete her studies at the University of Nebraska–Lincoln.

Huskers earn recognition at the American Advertising Federation’s 2024 Creative Nebraska Awards

University of Nebraska-Lincoln College of Journalism and Mass Communications students won 10 awards for outstanding creative work during the American Advertising Federation’s annual Creative Nebraska Awards on Feb. 23. The students earned seven silver awards, one gold and two special judge’s citations.
