On air at NTV

June 11-12, 2007
Spencer Schubert, NTV , Kearney, Nebraska

This has been an unbelievable week in my summer internship at NTV. Up to this week, I have been training in about every facet of being a sports reporter, and this week, I have been able to make my first step towards what I hope to be doing nearly every week.

I shot, cut, and edited my first on-air package of the summer. I went on the weekly Road Less Traveled segment with the head female anchor Colleen Williams, but now we are adding a sports twist every time we go.

We traveled to Merna, Nebraska and the organization BRAN (Bike Ride Across Nebraska) was making its way through the town while we were there. It was easy for me to realize that the bikers would be my story for the week.

I shot not only video for my package while there, but I also shot all the generic video for the Road Less Traveled as well. It was a pretty stressful day, but at the end of it all, I had my very first package air during the 10:00 p.m. sports segment.

I would love for all of you to click here and see my story. The sports editor and all producers were very impressed with my work for my first package of the summer and they are looking for even better
stuff as the summer continues. I hope you enjoy!
