Polished reporters

Hello all. This week I was able to go out with two of the older reporters/anchors. On Tuesday, I went out with Mitch Jenliker. We headed to Boulder, CO to preview a school board meeting. The was about a sex education discussion that some felt was presented unfairly to high school students at Boulder High School. Parents and some students felt that the whole situation was taken out of context. So, now the school was getting in trouble and these students wanted to defend themselves. All in all it was an interesting story. There wasn't too much because we were just previewing the meeting.

Mitch was a very interesting person to talk to. He has been in the business for over twenty years and has just been at two stations. His stories are amazing. It is really neat being able to go out with a polished reporter. I could just tell the difference in the way he spoke with the people he was interviewing from how he was always thinking on his feet. He also was a little bit more turbo than the other reporters. I suppose everyone has their own style.

On Friday, I logged tape most of the morning for one of the anchors. I was logging a piece on the Cherry Creek Art Festival. So, if you have any questions on it, just let me know.

That afternoon I was able to go out with Steve Saunders. We went to the Aurora Museum, there are some 9/11 artifacts that are going to be on display at the museum. It was a neat story. We arrived on scene at 2 p.m. and we had to go live at four. It was a quick afternoon, but they got it done. Its always impressive to see things put together well is such short time.

Other than that the week was good. I was able to go out with some different reporters and learn a thing here and there.
