The Incline

Last weekend my family came to visit me. They were on their way to Estes Park, and they stayed in Colorado Springs for a night. I took my brother to do The Incline with me. It's a mile long stair case up a mountain. It's the remainder of an old railway, but people here climb it all the time. I've done it twice, and I plan to do it again this weekend. The way up is brutal, but the hike down is beautiful! Me and some friends have also joined a running club downtown. All you have to do is show up and run/walk/ jog the trail, then you get free food! This week they had an Addidas raffle, and I got a free t-shirt. I've been doing lots of hiking and exploring with the other interns. Because we're in dorms together, there is always somebody doing something fun.
As far as work goes....I got to help interview Dick Fosbury last week. He won the gold medal in the high jump in the '68 Olympics, and he's known for his "Fosbury Flop" which is the preferred style of most high jumpers these days. He was a pretty cool guy. I also got to sit in on a marketing meeting where they were listening to music for their new campaign called Amazing Awaits. They were talking about how they were going to use it and what changes they wanted to make. It was pretty interesting. I like meetings where we sit around and listen to music!
We also went to shoot USA Hockey. They are making a video to clarify some existing rules, as well as introduce some changes. We were there for 3 hours and I've never been so cold in my life. (and I'm from Canada!!) It was cool, though, because we shot it in HD. They have some pretty nice cameras here. We might have to go back and shoot some more hockey because the team ran out of rink time, so if we do I'll be sure not to wear my summer clothes. I guess I should have known better.
Today my boss let me take one of the cameras around the complex just for practice. It's been a slow week, but looking ahead on the schedule it seems like its going to get extremely busy very soon.
