Neb. News Service Fall 2013 staff

Ally Phillips is a senior from Papillion.  Ally began studying journalism as a sophomore in high school.  She says everyone has a story, and she aims to tell them all after she graduates in May 2014.  In her spare time, Ally enjoys scrap booking, attending shows at local theaters, working for the YMCA’s Camp Kitaki and watching all kinds of movies.

Mary Rezac is a senior from Valparaiso.  Mary is a double major in journalism and English education.  She has worked for the Omaha World-Herald as an undergraduate fellow, and her work also has appeared in the Catholic News Agency.  In her spare time, Mary enjoys reading, being outdoors, working with kids and traveling to visit friends.

Daniel Wheaton is a junior from Cozad. Daniel is a double major in journalism and broadcasting. He has written for the Daily Nebraskan, The Paragould (Ark.) Daily Press, KFOR 1240, Loudspeaker and the Drone Journalism Blog. He also competes on the university’s speech team. When Daniel is not reporting or speaking, he enjoys cooking and relaxing in coffee shops.

The Nebraska News Service is the state government news wire service provided by the University of Nebraska-Lincoln College of Journalism and Mass Communications. Our reporters cover a wide range of state government news, including the Nebraska Legislature, the governor’s office, state agencies, decisions by Nebraska's Supreme Court, and other news stories as they arise. NNS provides news and information in the form of stories, photos and video. Located in Lincoln, the political heart of the state, we are able to provide our clients with powerful, relevant stories, straight from the source. In turn, our reporters get real-life experience and exposure to the news world. We put particular emphasis on providing content that is relevant to our clients and the communities they serve. Our current client list includes more than 100 newspapers throughout the state with a combined circulation exceeding 280,000, 16 radio stations and six television stations.
