Student scholarships available for journalism workshop

Take advantage of a full day of cutting-edge journalism training from seasoned professionals right here at the College of Journalism and Mass Communications.

The college is one of four sites in the United States and Canada hosting APME NewsTrain in 2016.

The daylong workshop on Saturday, April 9, will feature sessions on maximizing social media for audience engagement, making smart choices in digital storytelling, planning for breaking news in the digital age, writing for mobile and producing data-driven enterprise.

The college is offering scholarships for a limited number of students to cover the $75 training and luncheon fee. Apply before Feb. 12 by filling out the form at this link: http://goo.gl/forms/EAC48BVVHx

Seats for the workshop, which is expected to attract journalists from print, digital and broadcast newsrooms of all sizes, as well as journalism educators and students from the Midwest are limited.
