The New York Times

If you’re looking for a challenging and collaborative environment, this is the place to be. You’ll get the hands-on experience to succeed in your career and the opportunity to shine. If you’re willing to put in the work, you will have all the support and guidance you need from some of the best and most well-connected journalism professors in the nation.

There are a lot of great journalism schools out there, but I was immediately sold when I visited the college. The technology was current, and the curriculum top-notch and comprehensive. But it was my chat with one professor that sealed the deal. He told me, “I have a feeling you’re going to do some great things,” and that always stuck with me.

The college gave me the skills and confidence to pursue a career in journalism. I was hired at The New York Times at age 25, and it was largely because of the great education I received at University of Nebraska–Lincoln. But I also had a strong resume with good internships the college encouraged me to take, and that helped me get to where I am today.

The professors at University of Nebraska–Lincoln took the time to care. And that attention made the difference. They made me believe that anything was possible.

Today the college understands and takes seriously the changing nature of the industry. The curriculum and extracurricular offering reflect that. As a result, students walk away with the practical knowledge and solid work ethic to succeed.
