Four CoJMC students won individual Big Ten conference championships in speaking this past weekend at Northwestern University. Their first-place finishes assisted the University of Nebraska-Lincoln speech and debate team to win the team championship for the third year in a row.

The students and the category in which they captured individual tournament titles include Josh Planos – senior advertising and public relations major – informative speaking and program oral interpretation; Grace Kluck – senior broadcasting major – poetry interpretation; Daniel Wheaton – junior journalism and broadcasting major – in extemporaneous speaking; and Reece Ristau – junior advertising and public relations major – persuasive speaking.
